Our Services

Dryer Vent Cleaning
Dryer vents gradually collect lint and debris as your dryer pushes warm, moist air toward the exterior of your home. As buildup increases, airflow can become restricted, which may contribute to longer drying times, repeated drying cycles, excess heat, and unnecessary strain on the dryer.
What we do:
AirdrieDVC cleans the vent system from the dryer side toward the exterior termination, removing accumulated lint from the vent and around the dryer connection. We also clean the lint trap compartment, complete an airflow check, and inspect the exterior vent where it is safely accessible. Our service is focused on preventative airflow maintenance rather than mechanical repairs, helping keep the vent system clean and operating as efficiently as possible.

Bathroom Exhaust Fan Cleaning
Bathroom exhaust fans help remove humid air from bathrooms, but dust and debris naturally collect on the cover, fan blades, and inside the housing over time. That buildup can reduce how effectively the fan moves air, allowing moisture to remain in the room longer after showers and baths.
What we do:
Our bathroom exhaust fan cleaning includes removing and cleaning the cover, vacuuming accumulated dust and debris from the fan housing, and cleaning the accessible fan components before everything is reinstalled. The goal is to help restore proper airflow so the fan can do a better job of removing moisture and supporting ventilation in the bathroom.

Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV) Filter Cleaning
Your HRV continuously moves fresh outdoor air into the home while exhausting stale indoor air, and its filters help capture dust and debris before that air moves through the system. As those filters become dirty, airflow can be reduced and the system may have to work harder to move air throughout the home.
What we do:
Our HRV filter service focuses on removing and cleaning the reusable filters, completing a basic visual inspection of the accessible filter area, and reinstalling the filters once they are clean. This is preventative filter maintenance rather than a full mechanical HRV service, helping maintain airflow and keeping the filters ready to continue doing their job.

Signs Your Dryer Vent May Need Cleaning
Dryer vent restrictions often develop gradually, so the first signs can be easy to overlook. Changes in drying performance, heat, or airflow can indicate that lint buildup is beginning to restrict the vent.
Clothes Are Taking Longer to Dry
If loads that normally dry in one cycle are suddenly taking longer, restricted airflow may be preventing warm, moist air from leaving the dryer efficiently.
You Need More Than One Drying Cycle
Repeatedly running the same load through another cycle can be a sign that moisture is not being exhausted properly through the vent.
The Dryer Shuts Off or Shows an Airflow Error
Some dryers can detect reduced airflow and may display an airflow-related warning or shut down during a cycle. These symptoms can have multiple causes, but the vent is one area worth checking.
The Dryer or Laundry Area Feels Unusually Hot
Restricted airflow can cause excess heat to remain around the dryer instead of being carried through the vent to the exterior.
Airflow at the Exterior Vent Seems Weak
When the dryer is running, noticeably weak airflow at an accessible exterior termination can indicate that air is having difficulty moving through the vent system.
It Has Been a Year or More Since the Last Cleaning
Lint buildup happens gradually even when the dryer appears to be working normally. Many homes benefit from preventative dryer vent cleaning on roughly an annual basis, depending on usage and vent configuration.

Common Airflow-Related Dryer Codes
Some dryers can detect reduced airflow and display a warning when the exhaust system may be restricted. The exact code depends on the dryer brand and model.
LG Flow Sense: d75, d80, d90, d95 — Flow Sense codes that indicate increasing levels of exhaust restriction.
Whirlpool: AF, F4 E3, or “Check Vent” — indicate restricted airflow or a possible venting issue.
Maytag: AF, F4 E3, or “Check Vent” — indicate restricted airflow or a possible venting issue.

Not Every Dryer Problem Is a Vent Problem
Drying issues can also come from the dryer itself or other mechanical problems. AirdrieDVC focuses specifically on preventative airflow cleaning. If the vent is clean and the symptoms remain, further appliance diagnosis may be needed.
An airflow code does not always mean lint buildup is the only cause. Crushed or kinked ducting, excessive vent length, too many elbows, lint screen issues, or appliance-related problems can also affect airflow. Check the manufacturer’s information for your specific dryer model.
What to Expect During a Dryer Vent Cleaning.
Quick Check-In & Initial Airflow Check
We’ll start by asking how your dryer has been performing, including drying times, error codes, or any recent changes you’ve noticed. We then complete an initial airflow check so we have a baseline before cleaning begins.
Cleaning the Vent & Dryer Area
The dryer is carefully moved and unplugged before cleaning begins. We clean the vent system from the dryer side, remove lint buildup around the dryer connection, clean the back of the dryer, and remove lint from the lint trap compartment and accessible areas below it.
Post-Cleaning Airflow Check
Once the vent has been cleaned and everything is reconnected, we complete another airflow check. Comparing the before-and-after results helps us confirm how the vent is performing after cleaning.
We Review the Results With You
Before we leave, we’ll explain what we found and answer any questions. If airflow still appears restricted after cleaning, we’ll let you know and discuss the next appropriate step rather than adding unexpected work or repairs.
